Nightlife on the North Coast
Nightlife in the Dominican Republic represents some of the most entertaining, energetic and eclectic nightlight in the Caribbean. The relaxed Latin culture influences the tempo of life as well as the pulse-pounding beat of the night. Entertainment throughout the Dominican Republic is fun, exciting and always different.
Puerto Plata – the undisputed leader in vibrate nightlife along the north coast, Puerto Plata boasts everything from top of the line restaurants to club-life and everything in between. At the Playa Dorada Resort and over at Ocean World are two casinos that are not to be missed. Many of the hotels in Playa Dorada have jam-packed discos as well as excellent restaurants. Whatever you desire, Puerto Plata has it in abundance.
Sosua – the saying goes “when Puerto Plata goes to sleep, Sosua awakens” and it seems to be true. Nightlife in Sosua includes some exquisite restaurants—you really must try La Finca or the Waterfront Restaurants—and nice enough bars to visit for a few quick ones. Later, around midnight, the town literally leaps to life as tourists, locals and even visitors from outer space seem to descend on the club scene. An experience, to be sure, but not for the faint of heart or the younger crowd. Sosua has an electric atmosphere that burns bright for a few hours every night before dimming to recharge the next day.
Cabarete – chic beachfront restaurants placed in out of the way places or snuggled next to busy beach bars are what make Cabarete different. The beach of Cabarete is where the action is and nightlife springs to life. But in some other out of the way places you will find some amazing restaurants worthy of Manhattan; experience world-class sushi, mouth-watering Argentinean churrasco or the freshest seafood imaginable all here in Cabarete. Later, the nightlife in Cabarete moves to the popular bar clubs with their pulse-pounding beats and open air seating under the palm tree canopy covering the beach.
Cabrera – this rural community separated by an hours’ drive from Cabarete might seem sleepy and uninteresting. Nothing could be further from the truth! Cabrera also boasts an exciting nightlife that is more in tune with this area of the Dominican Republic. Some of the most interesting places to eat, drink and dance are in this little burg which will, in time, grow to rival others on the north coast. On a per capita basis, there are more million dollar luxury villas in Cabrera than anywhere else on the island! That alone is sparking an exciting nightlife in the town of Cabrera.
